  • Lilac Blossom, Nashua, NH reviewed on 04.29.2005
Lilac blossom is a very nice restaurant to eat in. They have two locations in Nashua one on exist 2, and the other on exit 7W.  Calm atmosphere, and high end chinese dinning! Higly recommended!

  • AMHERST HOUSE OF PIZZA, AMHERST, NH reviewed on 04.29.2005

Excellent pizza!  what is not apparent from the name of the pizzeria, is that they also offer middle eastern food as well. Highly recommend it!

  • SAN FRANCISCO KITCHEN, NASHUA, NH reviewed on 11.24.2003
I was very disapointed by this restaurant.  At first impression the atmosphere of the restaurant is pleasing and lively, but the entrees looked better on the menu.  I ordered the tea grilled lamb, and it tasted more like pepper and sesame beef.  The lamb was dry and spicy.  San Fran Kitchen tries to be all kinds of dishes without being its own. It is a mix of chinese, japanese, and something in between.  I would not recommend it. Sorry! My $15.95 dissh was too expensive and not to be a great dishe..

  • LUI LUI, NASHUA, NH reviewed on 02.13.2003

The ambiance is ok, nothing great. The food is also ok.  Albeit my recommendation is based on a visit about a year ago.

Lui lui just does not grab my attention as Olive Garden or Bertucci!

  • VILLA BANCA, NASHUA, NH reviewed on 11.12.2002
Villa Banca is a nice italian restaurant in downtown Nashua.  The menu items are decribed beatifully, and they taste great.  I was there few months ago to try it and I was impressed by the decor.  It seems that the restaurant used to be a bank, which was converted to a restaurant hence the word banca. I highly recommend it.  The service that night was a little slow, but there were no lines to get in, and the food was good.

  • HANGAWI, NEW YORK, NY reviewed on 09.23.2002
    The most relaxing dining
This was truly a dining "experience." The service was amazing, which says a lot in a city noted for horrible service. The food was tasty and the textures perfect. The variety of foods was fun...especially the mango & pear salad. There were also tables with friends and large groups, and the restaurant was an ideal setting for all the group types.

  • HANGAWI, NEW YORK, NY reviewed on 09.23.2002
Hangawi is the best vegetarian restaurant in New York. The receptionists and waiters and waitresses are very accommodating. The food is great. The place is neat and I feel like it's a temple, so serene it feels like you are on a pilgrimage to a sanctuary.

  • CHEN YANG LI, NASHUA, NH reviewed on 09.21.2002
The food is very good, but a little over priced.  The ambiance is not as relaxed as other restaurants, and sometimes you have to wait long eventhough the place did not seem full.  Overall I would visit it again, but only if it is for a business meeting. Definetly not a date place.

  • METRO BISTRO, NEW ORLEANS, LA reviewed on 09.08.2002
I've always been partial to Metro on Magazine in the CBD. Buzz

  • MOTHER'S RESTAURANT, NEW ORLEANS, LA reviewed on 09.08.2002
Mother's, on Poydras Street.  Short walk from the Quarter, best po'boys  in town.   mmmmm...what I'd do for a Debris po'boy right about now.

  • LEMON GRASS RESTAURANT, NEW ORLEANS, LA reviewed on 09.08.2002
    More upscale:  Lemon Grass (Vietnamese/Creole fusion cuisine);

  • PEARL RESTAURANT & OYSTER BAR, NEW ORLEANS, LA reviewed on 09.08.2002
Try the Pearl.  It's west of the French Quarter.  A basic joint that has good red beans & rice, oysters, and the like. - Cindy

  • ISTANBUL CAFE, BOSTON, MA reviewed on 09.07.2002
If you've had enough of the ubiquitous Middle Eastern eateries that have mushroomed all over Cambridge and Boston, and want to try something a little more adventurous and sophisticated, a Turkish meal at Cafe Istanbul is worth a shot.

Cafe Istanbul is tucked away, almost sunken in on 37 Bowdoin St. in Boston, right down from the State House on Beacon Hill (Phone: 227-3434). The restaurant has a cozy feel with family artifacts from Turkey adorning the walls. The service is gracious and the staff make you feel right at home. But the highlight of Cafe Istanbul is the incredible food - flavorful, juicy, unusual, and very fresh.

If you're a newcomer, you will be enticed by the warm, freshly baked Turkish bread when it appears on your table while you read the menu. Kebabs are a specialty, and they serve the whole gamut, right from the traditional doner to delicately marinated chicken kebabs. The coban salad, Turkish style pizzas, and sandwiches (served only at lunch) add a welcome variety. My favorite is the sampler platter, which I fill with zucchini fritters, grape leaves, lentil kofte, and a filo pastry stuffed with feta cheese. Cafe Istanbul will easily find a place in your heart or stomach. Z. Potia

  • LAUREL, BOSTON, MA reviewed on 09.07.2002
A pleasant surprise in Back Bay
I recently went to the restaurant Laurel in the Back Bay and the place pleasantly surprised me. The decor was upscale and classy, the food was great, and most entrees were just a $10 flat rate. Two can have a wonderful, romantic meal for less than $50. On the Friday night I was there, the bar area was very lively and it was a nice place to have a drink before sitting down for dinner. The atmosphere was perfect for a date because the tables are spaced nicely. They have a variety of modern American fusion dishes and their desserts are scrumptious. I had the soy-ginger marinated salmon, served with pickled cabbage and a snow-pea shitake mushroom salad. The salmon was cooked just right and the marinade they used had a wonderful flavor. The chocolate espresso mousse cup was the perfect ending to the meal - it was a hard chocolate shell filled with creamy mousse and drizzled with chocolate. Laurel is located at 142 Berkeley St. in Boston.

  • EL PELON, BOSTON, MA reviewed on 09.07.2002
    Traditional Mexican flavor near Longwood
If you work or attend classes on Harvard's Longwood Campus, you may already be weary of the handful of small restaurants in the Brigham Circle Area and the ho-hum fast food establishments at the Longwood Galleria Mall. Don't despair: just a 10-minute walk away, nestled between the Fens and busy Boylston Street, is El Pelon, a little neighborhood tacqueria serving exceptional Mexican favorites. Try their huge burritos stuffed with grilled veggies, chicken, steak or pork, and cheese, rice, and black or refried beans. All the ingredients are very fresh and skillfully spiced. Fiery hot sauce is available on request.

Priced from $4 to $6, an El Pelon burrito is one of the best deals in Boston. The menu also includes quesadillas, enchiladas, and tortas (Mexican sandwiches) - all excellent and all very inexpensive. If you happen to be in the neighborhood over the weekend, don't miss the freshly made tamales, a Sunday-only special. You can dine inside at one of several small tables, and take in the finer points of the restaurant's décor - traditional Day of the Dead paper cut-outs, embroidered aprons pinned to the wall - or, come spring, soak up the sun at one of the picnic tables out front. El Pelon is located at 92 Peterborough St. (behind Star Market) Fenway, Boston. (617) 262-9090. S. Marsh

  • DELI-HAUS RESTAURANT, BOSTON, MA reviewed on 09.07.2002
    Late-night hangout
One favorite place of mine is the Deli Haus in Kenmore Square. This is open really late, a rarity in this city. They actually have cheap pints of Pabst Blue Ribbon and everything from Veggie burgers to breakfasts. The crowd is eclectic, the help, endearing, and smoking is allowed. Cutting edge hip-hop seems to be the trend in the music you can chomp to. The decor is a mixture of bar/cafe/diner. Even the restrooms are interesting...especially as you pass by the monster-captures-girl poster. You will never feel rushed as you munch sweet potato fries.  K. Medin

  • CAFE HABIBI, ALLSTON, MA reviewed on 09.07.2002

    Traditional Indian and Pakistani cuisine
Right next to the fire station in Allston is one of the best Pakistani restaurants in town. Serving traditional Indian food as well as Pakistani specialties, the service is always friendly at Cafe Habibi. Run by two men, one from Pakistan and the other from Nepal, someone always has a friendly joke for the customer. The food is tasty and reasonably priced: nothing is more than $10, and most entrees are between $7 and $10. Make sure to try some of the most scrumptious pakora I've ever tasted! Located in Union Square, Allston, the intersection of Brighton Avenue, Cambridge Street, and North Beacon. Parking may be difficult to find along Brighton Avenue on a Friday night, but the food and company make it well worth the effort. The #57, #66, #64 and #501 MBTA buses all stop right out the front door.

  • METROPOLIS CAFE, BOSTON, MA reviewed on 09.07.2002
"Wow. In a space that was once an ice-cream parlor, a jewel of a bistro serves consistently on-target dishes that take their inspiration from both the French and Italian traditions. Try the elegant salmon pave, the astonishingly rich risotto specials, and any of the desserts." - The Phoenix.com

  • METROPOLIS CAFE, BOSTON, MA reviewed on 09.07.2002
It's a perennial favorite for fabulous New American bistro fare executed with flair...creative menu, great karma and enthusiastic service. - Zagat Survey, 2001
